DESCRIPTION

As an EEG Technologist you will be an essential part of the neurodiagnostic healthcare team, performing electroencephalographic tests on patients across all age groups. Your role involves applying electrodes using various techniques, ensuring accurate placement and patient comfort, while clearly explaining procedures to patients and their families to ease anxiety and foster understanding. During testing, you will closely monitor and document any physical or behavioral changes that may influence results and assist physicians by preparing and reviewing diagnostic data. You will maintain and update patient records in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy. Equipment maintenance is also a key responsibility, including routine calibration, cleaning, and troubleshooting minor issues, while reporting major malfunctions to the appropriate personnel. In urgent cases, you will promptly communicate critical findings to physicians and help resolve complex or unusual situations by consulting with senior staff or specialists. This position requires a high level of technical skill, attention to detail, and compassionate patient care, all within the framework of provincial healthcare regulations and professional standards.
