EEG Technologist I

Status: Regular Full-Time (1.00 FTE)

Department: Clinical Neurophysiology

Days off: Saturday and Sunday

 

Job Summary:

The electroneurophysiology technologist I is responsible to perform standard neurophysiology tests on children. The technologist I will primarily carry out EEG studies to support the service delivery within the Clinical Neurophysiology program.  This is skilled technical work involving the measurement and recording of brain waves to obtain data to assist in the diagnosis of neurological disorders.  The technologist I works collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary health care team, utilizing the principles of family centered care, in meeting the diagnostic needs of this patient population.

 

Qualifications:

- Registered or eligible for registration with the CBRET (EEG).

 - Licensed or eligible for licensing with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists.

 - Previous experience in clinical Neurophysiology in a pediatric setting preferred.

 - Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills with children, children s families and other staff.

 - Ability to work collaboratively on a multidisciplinary team.

 - Demonstrates ability to be flexible in dealing with changing/unpredictable situations.

 - Transferring of patients and equipment is required.

 - Demonstrated understanding of a Family Centered Care Service delivery model.
